Choose a License When You Generate

2026-10-12 · New Feature

New 3D assets now carry a License, so it's always clear who can use them and how. Pick Public or Private in Create 3D, and check it any time in the asset's info.

What's New

  • Choose a license when you generate — Create 3D has a new License option with Public and Private.
  • Private by default on paid plans — on Plus and above, new assets are Private unless you choose otherwise. On the Free plan, assets are Public.
  • See the license on any asset — the model info in the asset viewer now shows a License row, with a short explanation of what it means.
  • License in Flow — the Generate 3D node has the same License option.

License Types

License Available on What it means
Public All plans Licensed under CC BY 4.0.
Others may use, modify, and share your asset, including commercially, with attribution. It may be featured in the VARCO 3D Community with your creator name credited.
Private Plus and above You may use your asset commercially. It won't be posted to the Community or used for promotion without your permission.
CC0 Applied when you publish Licensed under CC0 1.0.
Anyone may use the asset freely, including for commercial purposes, with no attribution required.

How to Use

  1. Open Create 3D, or select a Generate 3D node in Flow.
  2. Under License, choose Public or Private.
  3. Generate. The license is saved with the asset.

Good to Know

  • An asset keeps the license it was created with, even if you change plans later.
  • Assets you create from your own Private asset stay Private.
  • Publishing an asset to the Community makes it CC0, and it stays CC0 even if you unpublish it.
