Generate the Shape First, Texture It Later

2026-08-27 · New Feature

3D generation now comes in two independent steps — create the shape first, then texture it whenever you're ready. The one-shot generation you know is still there.

What's New

  • Mesh-only generation — on the Create page, turn off the Generate Texture toggle above the Generate 3D button to create shape-only geometry with no texture. Perfect when you want to lock the form first, or need a clean mesh for your own texturing pipeline. It also costs fewer credits than one-shot generation.
  • Generate Texture — the new panel in the 3D Studio Texture tab paints a finished mesh with reference images of your choice, keeping the exact same shape. Add per-view references (Front / Back / Left / Right) by upload or from My Assets, and re-run it on already-textured assets to give them a completely new look.
  • Texture Size & PBR Texture — pick 1K / 2K / 4K and toggle PBR Texture right in the panel.
  • Mesh Source / Texture Source — asset previews now show two tiles, so you can tell which images shaped the model and which ones textured it.
  • Smarter edits — editing the shape now keeps the applied texture and remaps it onto the new geometry; texture edits always continue from the current texture's source.

How to Use

  1. On the Create page, turn off Generate Texture and press Generate 3D to create a mesh-only asset
  2. Open the asset in 3D Studio — untextured assets show a blue Generate Texture button in the viewer toolbar
  3. Click it (or open the Texture tab), add reference images, choose Texture Size, and press Generate Texture

Good to Know

  • Generating the mesh and texture separately costs the same total credits as one-shot generation — split the steps whenever it fits your workflow, at no extra cost.
  • Texture Size 1K/2K and PBR Texture are available on paid plans.
