Clone Stamp Comes to Texture Paint

2026-08-07 · New Feature

Texture touch-ups no longer have to start from a flat color. Clone Stamp is now available in 3D Studio, so you can copy details from one part of an asset directly onto another.

What’s New

  • Sample directly from the model — choose Clone Stamp, then Alt/Option-click the surface you want to use as the source.
  • Paint copied detail in place — drag across another area to reproduce the sampled texture while following the visible model surface.
  • Tune the result — adjust brush size, strength, and hardness just like the other Texture Paint tools.

Why It Matters

Seams, scratches, repeated patterns, and small texture defects often need nearby texture—not a new color. Clone Stamp lets you repair or repeat those details without exporting the texture to another application.

How to Use

  1. Open an asset in 3D Studio.
  2. Open Texture Paint and select Clone Stamp.
  3. Alt/Option-click the model to set the source.
  4. Drag over the area you want to retouch.
  5. Click Apply when you’re done.

Copy the good part. Paint over the awkward part. Keep moving.
