With the bridge plugin, you can move your workflow from VARCO 3D Studio into Blender more smoothly and reduce manual setup along the way.
The process is simple:
- Download the Blender bridge plugin from VARCO 3D Studio
- Install the plugin in Blender
- Enable the add-on
- Connect Blender to VARCO 3D Studio
- Export your assets from VARCO 3D Studio to Blender
Installation
Step 1. Download the Blender bridge plugin from VARCO 3D Studio
In VARCO 3D Studio, click the Bridge button to open the bridge popup. From there, locate Blender in the list of available integrations and click Install to download the Blender bridge plugin.
The downloaded file should be named varco3d-bridge-blender.zip. Keep the file as a ZIP archive after downloading. You do not need to extract it manually before installation.
Step 2. Open Blender Preferences
Launch Blender, then open the preferences panel by going to Edit > Preferences….
This is where Blender allows you to manage add-ons, install external tools, and enable new workflow extensions.
Step 3. Go to Add-ons and choose Install from Disk
In the Preferences window, open the Add-ons section. Then click Install from Disk… to install the plugin file you downloaded from VARCO 3D Studio.
Step 4. Select the downloaded plugin ZIP file
Choose the downloaded file named varco3d-bridge-blender.zip, then click Install from Disk.
Blender installs the add-on directly from the ZIP file, so there is no need to unzip it beforehand.
Step 5. Enable the installed add-on
After installation is complete, search for VARCO 3D in the add-on list. Once you find it, check the box next to the add-on name to enable it.
After it is enabled, the bridge plugin will be available inside Blender and ready to use.
Usage
Step 1. Open the VARCO 3D panel from the sidebar
In Blender, open the sidebar and select VARCO 3D.
This opens the plugin panel, where you can connect Blender to your VARCO 3D Studio workflow.
Step 2. Click Connect
In the VARCO 3D panel, click Connect.
This starts the local bridge connection required for sending your VARCO 3D assets into Blender. Once the connection is established, the Connect button in Blender will change to a blue Disconnect button.
Make sure this change is visible in Blender before moving to the next step.
Step 3. Confirm the connection status in Studio
After connecting in Blender, return to VARCO 3D Studio and open the Bridge popup.
When the connection is detected successfully, the status dot in the popup will turn green. This indicates that Blender is connected and ready to receive data from VARCO 3D Studio.
If the dot does not turn green, click Detect in the bridge popup to refresh and check the connection again before proceeding.
Step 4. Export your VARCO 3D assets to Blender
Once the connection is detected, the Export button will become available in the bridge popup.
Click Export to send your assets directly to Blender through the bridge. This makes it easier to continue editing, shading, or refining your work in Blender without going through extra manual import steps.
Step 5. Confirm the export is complete
If the export is successful, you will see a notification like this.
This means your assets have been sent to Blender successfully and are ready to use.
You’re all set to continue your workflow in Blender. Enjoy creating with VARCO 3D.
